From The President
Demon Knight’s Football Club would like to welcome you once again to another football season. This season it looks like we will have 26 junior teams from U6’s – U14s, plus a Div 1, Dad’s and Premier League Firsts & Reserves, giving us a grand total of 30 teams.
Our committee consists of myself Mitchell Battersby (President), Morgan Quiafe & Rick Whitley (Vice President), Amelia Brayley (Secretary) James Thomson (Treasurer), Terry Daly & Mark Hamilton (Junior Coordinators), Luke Birmingham (Online Registrar & Sponsorship Coordinator), Liam Turley & Michael Klepzig (Social Coordinators) with Morgan and I ADFA & NIF Representatives. Thank you for all your effort.
We’ve held our registration days, the Junior teams have had their first training day, Premier League has kicked off and our 1st Grade team have won through to the next stage of the FFA cup, to be held in Coffs Harbour on the 13th-14th May with our first game against Byron Bay FC, so football season is well and truly here. For local New England Junior and Senior teams, the season will kick off this weekend, Saturday 6th May.

Team lists are now available on the demonknightsfc.com website. Please visit the Junior Team area of the site to see a full list of teams, coaches and players. If you haven’t heard from your coach yet, you can’t find your team, or if you have any questions or concerns about team allocation, please contact us email@example.com, we will do our best to help. Please note that there may be some ongoing changes to a couple of these teams. Again, if you require any clarification please contact us at your convenience. The draw for the upcoming season has also been released on the Sporting Pulse website. Head to the Northern Inland Football site and click on the age group of your team to see all upcoming fixtures.
A huge thank you once again to our volunteer coaches, we all appreciate your time and effort. If you would like to help the club out with coaching this year, please contact us. NNSW Coach of the Month
Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) have launched Community Coach of the Month Award for 2017.
Football enriches character, intelligence, coordination and skill. And all season long, one brave man or woman steps up to the plate and takes on the task of helping our young athletes reach their potential: the Coach.
Your coaches can be nominated for any number of reasons:
- Providing a safe & enjoyable experience for their players & parents
- Goes out of their way to engage in all aspects of the club, not just their team
- Provides an opportunity for a disabled player to be part of their team
- Provides strong leadership & dedication to the team & club
- Has a high work ethic & encourages fair play – could be overall or one particular positive occurrence
- Always has a good relationship the match officials

Uniform & Merchandise
Jersey’s and most equipment are provided by the club again this year. All you need to do is make sure you have some boots, shin pads, shorts and socks. This year our shorts are black and our socks are black with white trim. Our sponsor Sportspower at 116 Dangar Street stock DK shorts and socks and have a great selection of boots available. We are still missing some shirts from last season. If you are still in possession of any shirts, please contact the club.
As always, we have plenty of DK Merchandise on offer this year. We have reversible jackets and hoodies amongst other items. Please fill out the order form and return it to firstname.lastname@example.org to place your order, if an item is out of stock we will let you know, we may be able to order new stock depending on the demand.

DK Community Charity
This year, Demon Knights is looking to provide support to a number of charities. In March, the club participated in the Cancer Council’s ‘March Charge’, raising just short of $500 for cancer patients. The club has also identified a number of other charities that we would like to support this season. Beyond Blue is a charity close to many people within the club and this has been identified as the clubs ‘Charity of the Year’. At all events throughout the season, we will be raising as much money as possible Beyond Blue. We will also have money tins for spare change at all home games & there will be committee members present around Wicklow Fields throughout the season to help raise as much money. In addition, DK has joined the Red Cross’ Red25 program, in an attempt to raise awareness and much needed blood donations throughout the season. NNSW Volunteer of the Month
Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) has recently announced the launch of the Newcastle Permanent Volunteer Recognition Program.
Volunteers are at the heart of our sport’s success and and this award will recognise the significant contribution of over 8000 volunteers across Northern NSW.
Commencing in April through until September this year, every month, NNSWF in conjunction with its seven Member Zones will select one volunteer from each Zone to be awarded “Newcastle Permanent Volunteer of the Month”. Each winner will be awarded with a certificate recognising their achievement, Volunteer Jacket and Patrick Atomic Pro Bag. Their contribution to football will also be recognised on the NNSWF website network.
From the pool of monthly winners, a “Newcastle Permanent Volunteer of the Year” for each zone will be recognised.
This final pool of Zone winners will be assessed and awarded as the “Newcastle Permanent Volunteer of the Year” announced at NNSWF annual awards night. This winner will receive an award plus a $250 First Touch Gift Voucher.

NNSW Football Playmaker of the Month
The Playmaker Award is awarded monthly from April to September to a club that makes a significant contribution to their community.
This can cover a variety of reasons from the actual football experience, to club activities, coaching, volunteer management or anything that makes someone appreciate what their football club does.
