MEDIA RELEASE: Evan Quaife signs on for another year as DKFC Premier League Coach

After a successful 2015 that saw both Premier League and Reserve Grade teams reach the semi-final stage of the Northern Inland Premier League, Evan Quaife has announced that he will be back for another run at the title in 2016 with the aim to take the next step and bring the title to Armidale for the Demon Knights Football Club.

“Having missed the finals in 2014, to come through and only just miss out on making the grand final this year was tremendous” said the proud coach.

“We started slowly but put in some dominant performances throughout the year and made the finals with a must win final game of the year. We beat Souths twice, as well as keeping them scoreless. We beat Easts on both occasions (5-0 at home,4-2 away), we finished higher than Norths, we beat  minor premiers Joeys 2 of the 3 games and put them out of the comp, we finished Tamworth FCs season and probably should of ended OVA’s as well.  We know that we have to keep working hard though because we’re keen to improve upon that in 2016”.

The club enjoyed more success with the DK Dads taking out the New England Division 2 Premiership and the U14 Braveheart’s winning their grand final as well.  “The club can be proud of all 32 teams that played football in 2015 and we’ll be ready to do it all over again in the new year” said Quaife.

President Gloria Burton added “we would like to say thanks to all the players, parents, coaches and committee members for a wonderful season.  The year has been wonderful and with administration changing from Armidale District Football to Northern Inland Football there has been a lot of changes, but it has been an absolute pleasure to have been president this year and I would like to thank all of our wonderful players this year and to any new players considering joining us in 2016 we welcome you to a wonderful club and hope you enjoy playing with Demon Knights.

DK will be holding their Annual General Meeting at the Wicklow Hotel on Monday the 18th of January from 6pm, all interested in the club are welcome to attend.  For more information contact the club at
